    What Type of Accommodations Are Offered?

    With optimal suite layouts from single living in Studio suites to private living in 2-Bedroom to 6-Bedroom shared accommodation and limited Townhome suites, this Student Residence offers something for everyone with roommate matching services available.

    Does this Student Residence Accept Packages on My Behalf?

    Yes! For package deliveries, residents can collect them at the first-level front desk upon receiving an email notification from their team. Additionally, residents can pick up regular mail from the designated mailboxes on their second level.

    Do You Have Employment Opportunities for Students?

    Yes! They encourage residents interested in joining their team as Dons explore the application process once opened. See their Residence Life section for more information.

    When Can I Move into this Student Residence?

    Your scheduled move-in date is the start date indicated on your Lease Agreement. Once signed, please reference page 2 of your Ontario Standardized Lease Agreement. Additional move-in details as they pertain to date/time of arrival, what documentation to have prepared, what and what not to bring, roommate matching, renter’s insurance, etc. will be communicated in the month(s) leading up to move-in.

    Are Accessible Suites Offered?

    Yes, absolutely! They have AODA-compliant rooms built to accommodate students with different abilities. Please be sure to include this in your application and they will be happy to assist you. Please note only select units may include ADA accessible features.

    Can I Bring A Mini Fridge?

    Yes, you may bring a mini fridge to place in your suite. It must be under 700W.

    Can I Bring My Own Mattress?

    No, they do not allow students to bring in their own mattresses. If you require additional mattress support, they encourage residents to consider bringing a mattress pad or memory foam.

    Is the All-Inclusive Wi-Fi Unlimited?

    At this Student Residence, they take pride in ensuring that you stay connected to your coursework, loved ones, and entertainment during your stay. Their internet service is intentionally designed to provide unlimited high-speed Wi-Fi internet as part of their comprehensive utility package. Rest assured, they are committed to maintaining sufficient internet connectivity to meet your needs throughout your stay.

    Is Kitchenware Provided?

    No. Should residents wish to use one of their many community kitchens, they are responsible for providing their own kitchen supplies, including but not limited to cutlery, plates, drinkware, and cooking utensils. In-suite, fully-equipped kitchens do not come outfitted with kitchenware.

    Is Parking Available ?

    No. Parking is not available at this Student Residence; however, there are plenty of local parking lots and garages nestled throughout the area. Residents also have access to the wide network of Toronto’s transit system (TTC) with its famed streetcars passing right in front of our building. Additionally, this Student Residence offers in-building bicycle storage.

    What is Residence Life?

    At this Student Residence, their residence life model takes a back-to-basics approach using the core components of what is tried and true about Residence Life and student development. Their programming model provides residents with numerous opportunities to learn about academic success and personal growth focusing on five (5) key areas — academic support, health and wellness, employability, financial literacy and community engagement. Their on-site managerial infrastructure and effective programming are not only critical to the success of a Residence Life program but to ensuring each resident’s personal and academic successes.

    Who Comprises the Residence Life Team?

    The on-site Residence Life department consists of a full-time Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) and Don student staff who live on-site.

    What if I Have a Roommate Conflict?

    If a resident experiences conflict with one or more roommates, they are encouraged to speak with their Don. Their student staff are trained in conflict mediation, confrontation skills, active listening, and dispute resolution. If a conflict extends beyond the scope of a Don’s ability, they will seek support from the Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) or another member of Management to ensure a peaceful and fair solution for all parties involved.

    What, If Any, Mental Health Services are In Place at this Student Residence?

    At this Student Residence, student health and wellness is an intentional and primary point of focus when it comes to providing the best possible living experience. Through several programs tackling awareness, as well as mental and physical health, we aim to remove the stigma surrounding mental health and provide as much support as possible to students navigating university life. They partner with Workplace Options to give residents access to a free Student Assistance Program, available 24/7, and in their preferred language. Additionally, throughout the year, they host activity weeks such as Thrive Week and Hi, How Are You Week for students to engage in order to bring focus to the importance of their mental health!

    What Kind of Security is Provided at this Student Residence?

    This Student Residence has a secure card-access entry system, along with a professionally staffed front desk, 24/7 security, and security cameras in all common areas. There is professional on-site management during business hours and after-hour on-site assistance. They also have monitored fire sprinklers and detectors, electronic locks on each unit door, individually locking bedroom doors, and a guest policy.

    What Transportation Options are There?

    Directly across the street from the University of Toronto’s St. George campus and in close proximity to OCAD, Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), and George Brown, this Student Residence is conveniently located within the downtown core at the intersection of College & Spadina. Residents have access to the wide network of Toronto’s transit system (TTC) with its famed streetcars passing right in front of our building. They are located by streetcar routes 506 Carlton and 510 Spadina, Queens Park subway station, as well as a 20-minute TTC commute from Toronto's Union Station, which connects the city to all over Ontario and the rest of Canada! Additionally, there are Toronto Bike Share stations located throughout the downtown core and of course, there are always taxis and Ubers just minutes away. This Student Residence offers in-building bicycle storage as well.

    What are the Policies on Smoking?

    The Student Residence is a smoke-free community in all indoor areas and within nine meters of any entrance or exit of the building.

    What is the Alcohol Policy?

    Provincial liquor laws prohibit the consumption of alcohol by persons below the legal provincial age (19 years). The Student Residence expects that residents in possession of, in the act of consuming, or under the influence of alcohol will be of legal age to do so. At the Student Residence they strictly adhere to these laws. They uphold open alcohol restrictions and have implemented a policy that requires all alcohol to be consumed within a resident's unit, and not in common areas such as hallways, lounges, lobbies, or amenity spaces to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all residents.

    Does the Student Residence Permit Guests?

    Yes! Invited guests are always welcome, subject to the consent of roommates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests. Residents are responsible for the behaviour of their guest(s) at all times. A guest is defined as any non-CampusOne resident. Failure of guest(s) to comply with the Community Standards will result in the host resident being held fully responsible for any infraction. It is the host's responsibility to inform their guests of their Community Standards.

    What Is Renters Insurance, And Do I Need It?

    Yes! Personal Property Insurance is required to live at this Student Residence. Personal Property Insurance (sometimes referred to as “Renters’ Insurance”) can protect your valuables, such as laptops or expensive textbooks from theft or damage, providing you with peace of mind that you’re covered if something happens. Policies should cover personal property and personal liability coverage, and additional living expenses.

    Can I send My Student Mail/Packages?

    Yes! For package deliveries, your student can collect them at the 1st level front desk upon receiving an email notification from their team. Additionally, they can pick up regular mail from the designated mailboxes on our 2nd level.

    Is Dining Service Provided?

    Absolutely! They are thrilled to offer a vibrant dining experience for all residents. Those residing in suites without kitchens are required to participate in their dynamic dining program for the entirety of their lease. For residents in suites with fully-equipped kitchens, you have the flexibility to opt in or out.

    Their dining program is expertly managed by The University of Toronto and takes place in our expansive 9,000 sq. ft. dining hall, featuring All You Care to Eat Access Meal Plans. These plans allow you to indulge in a variety of delicious options with a specified number of entry swipes each week. Enjoy the freedom to choose what you want and how much you wish to savour with each swipe! For University of Toronto students, your Access Meal Plans, Dining Dollars, and TBucks will be conveniently loaded onto your TCard at the start of the meal plan. Non-University of Toronto students will receive a meal card upon move-in.

    Unused Dining Dollars, including any additional funds added throughout the year, will seamlessly transition to Food Services Campus Flex Dollars at the conclusion of the academic meal-plan period. These can be utilized for food, beverages, and other items at participating Food Services locations starting in May. Please note that Access Meal Plans are non-refundable, and there are no discounts, credits, or refunds for unused entry swipes.

    The Access Meal Plans operate on a weekly cycle, beginning on Sunday and concluding on Saturday, and is essential for the Fall, Winter, and Summer semesters. We encourage you to review the Access Meal Plan options carefully to select the perfect fit for your dining needs at the time of application:

    • Unlimited Access – Enjoy unlimited entry swipes per week to the residence Dining Hall, with the option of up to five (5) entry swipes weekly at Chestnut, Oak House, or New College Dining Commons.
    • Access 14 – This plan offers 14 entry swipes per week to the residence Dining Hall, with any unused swipes expiring at the week's end. Entry swipes reset to 14 each week, and you can use up to three (3) swipes at Chestnut, Oak House, or New College Dining Commons. Please note that unused Access 14 swipes do not carry over to the following week.
    • Summer Meal Plan – Available for breakfast only, 7-days a week, this plan provides one (1) entry swipe per day throughout the summer meal-plan period.

    Access Meal Plan holders are welcome to dine with guests who do not have a meal plan; however, guests must pay the meal period entrance fee at each visit (options include debit, credit, TBucks, Flex Dollars, or Dining Dollars). Access Meal Plan entry swipes cannot be used for guest entries.

    Meals are eat-in only.
