Close to lectures, the Boots library, leisure facilities and the Students’ Union, it’s in a brilliant central location to access the university’s facilities and the city. Flats contain up to 11 students in ensuite bedrooms sharing a fully equipped kitchen-dining area. The accommodation is near to City Campus. Located in the heart of Nottingham, it gives you the best of both worlds: a comfortable living space on or near campus, and a lively city centre. You’ll love living and studying in an area that’s tailor-made for students. Travel links include frequent bus and tram routes, with the city’s main bus and train stations close by. Cancellation Policies

Cooling Off Period

The cooling-off period ends 21 days before the start date of the contract for all 44-week, 51-week, and single-semester contracts.

Deferring Studies

Students who defer their studies remain eligible for accommodation. If a student did not enrol during the previous academic year, they will be treated as a new first-year student and may book accommodation for the upcoming academic year through the standard booking process.

Early termination by students

A student may terminate the tenancy agreement before the end of the contract under any of the following circumstances: The student has withdrawn from their course. The student has been excluded from or refused admission to their course. The student has been absent from their course for more than 60 days due to illness and has formally agreed to suspend their studies with their higher education provider. Replacement Tenant Accepted

A student may be released from the tenancy agreement before the contract end date if all of the following conditions are met: The student has found a suitable replacement tenant who is an existing NTU student and has been approved by Property Management. The proposed replacement tenant is not already residing in accommodation managed by Property Management. Delayed Arrivals & travel restrictions

If you are unable to travel due to government-imposed travel restrictions, please contact the Amber team with the relevant supporting documentation. We will facilitate the request to review your circumstances and explore the possibility of cancellation/contract amendment. Requests are considered individually, and any outcome will depend on the property's review and applicable booking terms.

University Course Cancellation/Modification

If your course has been cancelled by your university, please reach out to the Amber team with the relevant supporting documentation. We will liaise with the property team to review your request on a case-by-case basis for cancellation. The resolution will be subject to the property's assessment and the terms of your booking.

Payment and Fees

Booking Deposit

No booking deposit or advance rent is required to secure the booking.

Pay In Instalment

Accommodation fees can be paid in full as a single instalment. Alternatively, accommodation fees can be paid in 3 termly instalments. The 3 termly instalments are typically due in: September January April

Guarantor Requirement

A guarantor is not required unless the student is under 18 years of age.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to pay a deposit?

A deposit is not required to book a room in University arranged accommodation. Please note, you may need to pay a deposit private halls of residence.

Can I still apply for accommodation if I deferred my place?

If you deferred your entry, you're still eligible for accommodation. If you didn't enrol for the previous year, the system should recognise you as a new first-year student and allow you to book as normal for the upcoming academic year.

What if NTU is my insurance choice?

If you've accepted NTU as your insurance choice, you'll be unable to book accommodation. If NTU becomes your firm choice after you've received your results, you'll be able to apply for accommodation once your place is confirmed.

Can I live with my friends?

Yes, you can book a room in the same flat as your friends, subject to availability. Your best chance for living with friends is to book your rooms when you’re together, so you can make sure you’re picking rooms in the same flat or residence.

Do you offer family or couples accommodation?

NTU does not currently provide university accommodation for families or couples.

Can I bring a car?

There is parking available at our outlying halls only. Permits are arranged through each halls' site team, please contact your hall for information about purchasing a permit. Our five city centre halls (Byron, Gill Street North, Gill Street South, Sandby, and Hampden) have no parking and the tenancy agreement for these halls states that students will not bring a car to the city.

Will I need a TV licence?

If you're going to watch TV, you may need a TV licence.

What length of contract do I need?

44 weeks is suitable for the majority of students. This allows you to keep the room until the summer without having to vacate over the winter break. We also have 51-week contracts, which are aimed at students needing to stay all year round, such as those on postgraduate courses, or international students unable to return home over the summer.

When do I pay for my accommodation fees?

You'll pay your accommodation fees in three termly instalments, to coincide with loan payments. Typically these are in September, January and April.

Do you offer catered accommodation?

All our halls are self-catered. You can buy food from NTU catering outlets on campus.

Do I need to pay a deposit or provide a guarantor?

No. If you're staying in an NTU or UPP hall of residence, you won't need to pay a deposit or provide a guarantor. This is the case for Home and International students at any level of study and for any booking type.
